Hiya. I’m a second year studying statistics. I was born in Guangzhou, China and moved to the U.S. when I was six. I love speaking Cantonese (although Mandarin is good too) and am obsessed with dramas and JJ Lin, a Singaporean singer. I’ve lived all across California, and love both Socal and Norcal. I joined CSA because it’s like a big family and it’s helped my transition into college. You should definitely come to our events if you’re just bored or want to meet new people.

Historian: Ryan Liu

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Hi! I was born and raised in Los Angeles and am currently enjoying a wonderful change of scenery here in Berkeley. As far as I know, I learned to speak Mandarin and English at the same time, although my Mandarin could certainly use more practice. (Maybe you can help?) In high school, I ran on the track team as a sprinter and hurdler, but I’m also a fan of many other sports. I recently picked up photography as a hobby, so I wanted to join CSA as a Historian. Now, I can connect more with my culture, make new friends, and pursue a hobby!

General Intern: Andy He

Major: Anthropology and Integrative Biology

Hi all! I am currently a senior pre-med student. I’ve lived in the Bay Area for most of my life, but I love visiting China. In my free time, I enjoy reading and listening to music. My hobbies include playing sports, watching good movies, and engaging in the occasional game of Tetris. I have a great appreciation for music, food, and literature. I speak Shanghainese fluently, and hope that one day I can put it to good use.
